Come along to an exciting night dive this Friday in the D’Entrecasteaux Channel!
Meet at the Dive Shed to kit up the boat at 4.30PM, to head down to Dru Point, Margate to launch the boat. We will shoot down the Channel (10-15 minute boat ride) and do one quick dive each at Roberts Point. High tide is about 5.50 so it should be nice and clear visibility when divers are in the water.
This is a night dive, so Advanced Open Waters only sorry team! Ideally recent night dive experience and at least 10 temperate water dives logged. Bring your torches (two at least needed) and glowsticks. SMBs/ Safety Sausages are mandatory on this dive.
Robert’s Point is beautiful with huge colourful finger sponges, small corals, large schools of fish and exciting invertebrates. I was only introduced to this site recently and it was gorgeous! It will be outstanding at night! The depth starts at 4ish metres, and drops away to 25(ish). Some current at this site, but it’s not super strong, and at high tide it should be good.
Get in touch with your friendly Dive Officers Nick Boucher and Dave Flynn if you have any questions 🙂
