Celebrate St Patricks day with an easy shore dive this sunday from Georgetown to get a look at the tugboat wreck the ‘Avon’. This old tugboat lies just offshore in about 15-18m near the old docking jetty. Bring your torches and we’ll get a good look at the old girl, as well as plenty of fish life and the odd seahorse or two.
High tide is at 8:07 so meet at the shed at about 6:30 to grab gear and carpool. In Georgetown you can park in the cul de sac at the end of the Esplanade that runs along stone quarry bay. There’s a convenient concrete platform between the shore and the road that makes gearing up very easy. Suitable for all divers. Jump in before it gets cold again!
