Hey divers, let’s head over to the Iron Pot lighthouse for a dive
Meeting at the Olinda Grove dive shed at 8:30am sharp then onwards to Margate Jetty (Dru Point) to launch the boats and head over to IronPot for two boat dives
The island itself has some great marine life to see, and there’s a good sized ‘tunnel’ into an expansive cave underneath the island that we’ll seek to visit
Please bring a torch, warm clothes and lunch/water for the boat
If weather isn’t great on the day, we’ll aim to still get out for some other local dives such as 9-pin point or tinderbox etc.
Iron Pot is a small flat sandstone island at the entrance to the Derwent river. It is part of the Betsey Island Group. “The Iron Pot” hosts the second oldest lighthouse built in Australia and is the oldest original tower in Australia.
Depths of 2-12m this is an excellent dive for any diver.
