Restoring our underwater forests!
Seacare, Eaglehawk Dive and partners have been culturing Giant Kelp in tanks with a plan to plant them into trial sites when they are at a suitably robust age. That time is now, and a planting day is scheduled for Sunday 14th October.
Members that are capable, experienced divers with good buoyancy control will have the opportunity to help plant Giant Kelp in a couple of beautiful locations on the Tasman Peninsula. It should be a fun day, with a different spin and purpose to a usual recreational dive trip!
Let me know by reply email jpkeane@utas.edu.au if you’d like to come along.
