Get psyched for an awesome weekend of diving with club members from both South and North!
The south will convoy up Friday night with Trojan and the compressor, and the north will convoy down with Thumper.
The current plan is to leave the dive shed on Friday afternoon to head to Gumleaves (near Little Swanport) and get our camp site set up for a belter of a weekend. Divers can meet 9am Saturday morning at the camp ground if they prefer.
We will run some dives out to Schouten Island in Trojan, and use Thumper for some closer speccy dives around the Freycinet Peninsula. There should be plenty of options for both Open Water and Advanced divers with plenty of diving to be done across Saturday and Sunday.
Unfortunately the club can’t rent or provide camping equipment, and you will need to make sure you are adequately prepared for camping. For those of you wanting to grab a cray or abalone, make sure you are prepared with your own licences.
You will need to bring:
- your dive certifications;
- your own swag/tent (or share with a friend);
- sleeping bag;
- drinking water;
- cooking equipment (there is some shared cooking facilities that Gumleaves have kindly allowed us access to);
- warm clothes;
- food; and
- your camera to capture this amazing weekend!
Also please ensure you organise what dive gear you need from the club, and make sure you bring your own wetsuit, hood, mask, gloves and fins as we cannot provide this.
Get in contact with Nick from the South or Millie from the North if you are wanting to grab a lift from the dive sheds instead of meeting at Gumleaves. There may be an empty seat (no promises!)
This event is fully booked.
