The 55m former hopper barge the ‘Troy D’ was scuttled in 2007 in Mercury Passage. There is full access to every compartment offering fascinating diving opportunities to explore the engine room and other areas. The bottom of the boat sits at a max depth of 24m, if you stay on the wreck you can stay above the 18m limit for open water divers – so all divers welcome.
The troy D is a 15 mins boat ride from Triabunna, 1km off the coast of Maria Island.
The plan is to dive the Troy D change tanks and head further down Mercury passage for a feed of scallops
You must have a scallop licence if you want a feed – get it here.
Meeting at Dive Sheds, Olinda Grove Sports Grounds
Double dives – if you need tanks pick the ticket for $60, if you’re bringing your own tank jump on for $50.
Use of club Regs, BCD and weights are included in the cost of the dive if needed, you will need your own wetsuit, fins and mask.
