TUDC Annual General Meeting

The 2023 AGM will be held on Saturday the 18th of March from 10am followed by club day (diving and BBQ).

 

Locations:

Crayfish Point, Taroona

 

The main purpose of the AGM is to elect the Executive and Committee for the 2023/24 dive season. Duties of the positions are below.

TUDC Duties

Everybody

Gear Rentals – Man the gear store for hiring and return of equipment, rotating roster.

Club Dives – Each member must organise a minimum of 2 per year. This includes promoting the dive, organising gear and accommodation if needed. Dive Officers are responsible for organising the bulk of club diving, and it is expected that they will organise many more than 2 dives per year. Any committee member needs to run 3 dives in first 6 months, or the position will be up for grabs.

Attend TUDC club days, monthly committee meetings and Societies Day.

Committee members need to be available on the ‘committee weekend’ for training.

It is valuable for officers to have significant diving experience, a boat license and a minimum qualification of rescue diver.

Presidents Duties

Overall responsibility to keep the club running, Maintain Keys Register, organise CBA Authorities, run Member Drive, organise the Shed Duty Roster, Attend Sports Council Meetings, AGM Co-ordination, Answer to TUU Executive, investigate sponsorship deals, Affiliation renewal with TUU and Promote Safe Diving

Vice President’s Duties

Club website maintenance, supporting the President in their duties, Annual return of Association, funding and membership brainstorming and Club branding.

Treasurers Duties

Keeping track of club finances, receipts, payments, bank statements, budget, bank reconciliation, balance sheet, profit and loss statement. Attend Budget Meeting(s), Registration for Boat, Trailers and Oxygen Equipment and Annual club audit prior to AGM.

Secretary’s Duties

Club Info Brochure, Club Advertising and Marketing Tactics, Answering and advice to members, correspondence, Societies Day co-ordination, Minutes of Club Meetings, Membership Information, Assist President with co-ordination of meetings, general admin and filing of club information – both electronic records and at gear store and affiliation renewal with TUU

Asset Officer Duties

Boat Service and maintenance /Flares status/ EPIRB/ safety equipment. Vehicle servicing and maintenance. Compressor servicing and maintenance.

Gear Officer Duties

Club Gear Audit. Tank/BCD/Reg Service Status and Maintenance. Medical Kit Status

Dive Officer Duties

Coordination and running of multiple dive events. Participation in Gear Shed roster. Promote Safe Diving

 

Club day info:

  • Free SCUBA diving
  • Free gear use
  • Free BBQ
  • Socialisation with other clubs and ocean dwellers! (also free)

Meeting at Olinda Grove Mt. Nelson Dive Shed at 9.00am to collect gear, or 10am at Taroona Beach if you have your own gear (or just need a tank).

Then:

  • AGM
    Pairing divers into buddy groups
  • An easy colourful dive
  • A free BBQ!
  • And finally washing your gear back at the shed

This marine reserve is an easy dive with easy beach access to the water and a maximum depth of approximately 12m.

The BBQ will have both veg and meat options.

BYO personal dive gear (wetty, mask, fins etc.), good vibes and smiles 😀

It’s a pretty relaxed cruisy day –with the Exec there to here to help.

If you need a lift to the dive shed please reply to our info email as someone will be able to help out!

 

Anyone unwell must not be attending club events.
Club dive gear to be washed with approved solution at the end of dive.
Hand sanitiser will be available at the dive.
Please maintain social distancing of 1.5m wherever possible during the event.

Refunds
Refunds are at the Dive Coordinator's discretion however the following guidelines apply to normal events:

Cancellation where a replacement diver is found: 100% refund

No show or cancellation with less than 48 Hours notice: 0% refund
Cancellation with greater than 48 Hours but less than a week's notice: 50% refund
Cancellation with greater than a week's notice: 100% refund
